Dr. Nikolaos Korfiatis

BSc, MSc, Ph.D. – Chief Data Scientist and CIO

Nikos has been with Biomarker Solutions from its beginning (2012) acting as a head of data science and genomic data analysis. He is also a full time academic, working as an Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) in Business Analytics at the University of East Anglia and has authored more than 30 publications in the fields of data analytics, information systems, and marketing. He holds a Ph.D. in Information Management from Copenhagen Business School (CBS), Denmark an MSc in Interactive Systems Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden and a BSc from Athens University of Economics and Business. He is overseeing the R&D activities of BMS in -omics related data management and analysis and is keen on applying his research on bringing efficiency in clinical diagnostics and treatment.

He has been involved in several “big data” projects, utilizing and analyzing -omics’ data from diverse sources including next-generation sequencing genomics data sets. Nikos complements analytics with user-friendly platform development, essential components to our Path2Dx™ and propriety signature based portfolio of IO products. He is a driving force in translating software engineering into our desire to generating simple, accountable and transparent platforms and processes.
